A strategy and tool
The wait card is a strategy and tool for your child. The wait card offers a tangible thing to hold until it’s wait time is over. Then you collect the wait card. Start small. For example, start with 5 seconds during an activity your child is working on. Note: the wait time at the grocery store might be different than when you’re in the car together.
This strategy and tool is to create, establish and maintain the practice of waiting. As a visual reminder that you and your child have to wait. If your child is waiting, so are you. Click the link to see how I use this in my blog post here.
